James W. Hunyadi, a native of Akron, Ohio, graduated from the University of California, Irvine, prior to obtaining his medical degree from the University of Kansas in 1980. From 1980 to 1987, he completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He has been a plastic surgeon in the Toledo area since 1988 and has also served with medical missions to Ecuador, Africa and the Dominican Republic.

Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Hunyadi is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Inc. and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Additionally, he is a member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and is director of the Cleft Palate and Facial Anomalies Clinic of Northwest Ohio in Toledo.
